phosphor 88.1

A 30-second kinetic piece: the studio as a CRT terminal powering on, drawn frame by frame.

frame 000 / 899 · 0.0ssceneA

Silent, and it does not start on its own: the piece is a CRT powering on, with tearing, roll and static throughout.

  1. 0–3ssceneApower-on, and the BIOS block
  2. 3–9ssceneB~/studio $ whoami → astrolabs
  3. 9–14ssceneCfive words, one at a time
  4. 14–15ssceneMontagethe montage: ten cuts in one second
  5. 15–21ssceneDthe astrolabe, and the dial at 88.1
  6. 21–27ssceneEthe statement, then the layout and the terminal
  7. 27–30ssceneFsign-off, and the tube goes dark

what it is.

Thirty seconds at 30fps, 120bpm. The whole piece is Canvas 2D in one HTML file where every scene is a function, stepped frame by frame in headless Chromium and scored by a synthesiser written in numpy. Nobody asked for it; it exists because a visual language is easier to judge in motion than in a screenshot.
