the story.

The operating system for a one-person studio building things that matter.

Astrolabs is a creative lab working at the intersection of design, motion, and systems.

An astrolabe was an instrument for navigating by the sky: precise, handmade, and built to be used. The studio borrows that idea. Every project is an instrument, made with craft, clarity, and speed, and meant to stand on its own.

the person.

M. Miftahus, founder of Astrolabs

Every pixel and every line of code here passes through one pair of hands.

Astrolabs is run by M. Miftahus, a designer and engineer based in Banyuwangi, Indonesia. Working solo is a feature, not a constraint: no handoffs, no telephone game between design and code, and full accountability for what ships.

the mark.

astrolabs.

Three orbits around a mint core: the instrument in motion. The wordmark is set in the same monospace used across the studio, so the brand and the terminal are one surface.

One dark base, one raised surface, one text tone, and a single mint accent. The accent does all the pointing; everything else stays quiet.

body: space grotesk

The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.

The monospace leads: headlines, wordmark, and navigation all speak terminal. Space Grotesk carries longer reading without losing the studio's edge.

voice.

lowercase

Headlines and interface copy stay lowercase. Quiet confidence over shouting.

direct

Short sentences. Concrete words. No filler verbs, no marketing gloss.

technical

The terminal is the native habitat. Prompts, paths, and monospace are part of the voice.
